Hong Kong - ACT

Overview

Hong Kong's Asia Container Terminal (ACT), located on China's south coast on the opposite site of the Pearl River delta, is surrounded by the South China Sea on the east, south and west and borders Shenzhen to the north. Hong Kong port forms the economic gateway to mainland China and further serves the South East and East Asia region.

DP World is principal shareholder of Asia Container Terminals Ltd and the operator of ACT in the port of Kwai Chung, Hong Kong. ACT is a HK-registered company, 55.16% owned by DPW and the remaining 44.84% by PSA.

In April 2004 ACT took over operations at the 2 container berths at terminal 8 west (CT8W). CT8W is a premier terminal facility, combining DP World's global terminal expertise, a superb physical location, with the latest equipment and technology.

At ACT safety is top priority and the terminal is committed to providing a safe workplace and ensuring that business activities are conducted in a manner that minimizes any adverse environmental impact - the certification of OHSAS18001 (Safety) and ISO14001 (Environment) was a key project in 2008.
