| Ganesh Raj heads DP World Australia as Senior Vice President and Managing Director. In March 2004, Mr Raj joined DP World Head Office. His vast experience in the liner and port industries enabled him to identify potential projects and manage them through to successful completion. He then moved on to lead our terminals in the Subcontinent, in 2006, until his current move to the Australias.
Ganesh Raj obtained a first class graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bangalore University and then pursued further certification in Port Management while in Rotterdam. In 1988 he joined Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust and in 1990 moved to the A.P. Moller Group as Terminal Manager at Nhava Sheva.
September 2001 saw him move to the new concession in Chennai owned by P&O Ports where he was appointed Chief Executive Officer. Under his leadership the facility went live on 30th November of 2001. The Chennai operation underwent considerable progress in performance levels and throughput, growing in excess of 50% in a two year period.
