Belgium - Delwaide

Antwerp is located at the upper end of the tidal estuary of the Scheldt, within the Scheldt-Maas-Rhine delta, connecting it not only to the 1,500km Belgian network of inland waterways but also to the European network. The port enjoys the benefits of excellent multi-modal connections to all major mainland European centers of consumption and production. The inland location means that the port of Antwerp enjoys a more central location in Europe than the majority of North Sea ports. As a result the port of Antwerp has become one of Europe's largest sea ports, ranking second behind Rotterdam for container throughput.

DP World has 100% ownership of the Delwaide Dock terminal, DP World Antwerp, situated behind the locks on the right bank of the river Schelde. The terminal caters generally for niche trades and compliments the larger scale Antwerp Gateway facility in the Deurganckdok on the left bank of the river. On the right bank, in the Churchill Dock, DP World operates conventional berths in partnership with Rickmers & Conti, catering for break bulk and project cargoes.
