France - Fos
OverviewThe Port of Fos-sur-Mer opened in 1968 and has become the centre for Marseille's bulk cargo and container traffic. The Eurofos terminal is located at the port of Fos, close to France's leading southern industrial zone. The port has direct barge access to the Rhone Canal, north into central France including the major city of Lyon and excellent road & rail links into the hinterland. The industrial zone complex includes a number of key logistics operations, as well as facilities owned by our Dubai World group sister company Jafza - Gazeley immediately adjacent to Eurofos.
Eurofos is owned and managed by Portsynergy, a joint venture between DP World and CMA-CGM. DP World together with its partner CMA-CGM has secured the concession for the first two berths in the expansion phase project known as FOS 2XL. In addition to providing significant new capacity in the port, the project provides long term security with a 35 year concession to operate the facility. The 600m of quay and land will be developed by the Port of Marseille with Portsynergy developing the infrastructure and equipment.
