Overview
DP World Aden is a key domestic cargo gateway for Yemen and is strategically located to capture significantly growing regional transshipment volumes. Its position on the main east-west trade route, only four miles away from the international marine shipping lane, makes it an ideal hub port for transshipment services to East Africa, the Red Sea, the Subcontinent and the Gulf region, just nine days steaming from Europe and seven days from Singapore.
DP World Aden, a joint venture between DP World and Yemen Gulf of Aden Port Corporation, took over the concession to operate and develop the container handling facilities in the port of Aden on 1st November 2008. This agreement includes both Aden Container Terminal (ACT) and of nearby Ma'alla Container Terminal (MCT), the cornerstone of the Aden Free Zone.
