Overview
Fujairah Container Terminal is strategically located on the United Arab Emirate's Indian Ocean coast, outside the Straits of Hormuz, close to the main east-west shipping routes. Its location offers shipping lines with high transshipment volumes an excellent platform to serve the entire Gulf Region, the Indian Subcontinent, Pakistan, Iran, the Red Sea and East Africa. Fujairah Container Terminal is also very close by to the major population centers of the UAE, with Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah only two to three hours away.
Given its significant excess capacity and location outside of the Strait of Hormuz, DP World Fujairah holds the potential to develop as a deep-sea transhipment facility and expansion opportunities are currently being explored and promoted with container shipping lines.
