New Directions

DP World supports a number of outreach projects designed to encourage exchange of ideas and motivate action around the above-described themes. One such project is one-year public lecture series implemented with NYU’s Africa House under the heading "New Developments in Transportation and Development in Africa". DP World supports research with the potential to impact thinking on the role of the multinational corporation in international development—for example, “Articulating a Dubai Model of Development: The Case of Djibouti”, a monograph published in 2010 by the Dubai School of Government. In order to build transparency and collaboration, and encourage a healthy sense of competition between terminals and regions, all the company’s environmental and social initiatives are logged in a special-purpose database, and vetted for conformity with corporate policy and industry best practices.
